Warburtons Bakers - Supporting Charities and Communities
Warburtons provides financial support to charities, organisations and initiatives which aim to have a positive effect on young people, their families and the surrounding community.
The funder is particularly interested in projects and activities which improve life chances and provide opportunities for those who face more challenges than most.
For example, projects which:
- Have a positive effect on the aspirations, education and employability of young people
- Have a strong family focus
- Encourage healthier lifestyles in the community
- Improve the local environment of the community
Charities or community organisations may apply for grant support, although the funder states that it is unable to support all applications due to the high volume of requests for grant aid.
Warburtons does not currently support any of the following:
- Organisations that discriminate by race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion or national origin
- Religious causes
- Political parties
- Individuals (in contrast to groups, teams or communities)
- Expeditions and overseas travel
- Activities with a negative impact on the environment
- Cultural projects such as film, music and theatre that are not focussed on or part of community or educational work
- Animal causes
- Sponsorship, advertising and promotion alone, unless they are only elements of part of a focused community project
- Organisations with which association can be potentially harmful to the Warburtons business
- Projects outside the UK or overseas causes
- 3rd party fundraising i.e. organisations fund raising for others or individuals seeking sponsorship in aid of a particular charity
- Individual research projects
- Individuals or organisations seeking educational bursaries e.g. assistance to individuals for school, college and university fees
- Applications that solely seek support for salaries. However Warbutons will consider funding a proportion of a salary or sessional worker fees where these are directly linked to project delivery. Warburtons also recognises the full cost recovery model for project based application
