Voluntary groups and community organisations (with an income of less that £30,000) in Somerset may apply.
Grants of 80% of the total project costs up to a maximum of £1,000 are available.

The Rural Fund supports small scale community-led initiatives that increase community cohesion and address challenges that arise from living in a small village.
Funded projects should result in two specific outcomes:
- strong, vibrant and inclusive rural communities;
- a better quality of life for the most disadvantaged rural residents.
Priority will be given to applications that help organisations pilot new approaches that:
- help them to reach their target groups in the most rural areas; or
- help the most rurally isolated people access their services in towns.
(2) Somerset Giving Fund
Supports projects that help vulnerable people in Somerset. Voluntary and Community Groups in Somerset may apply.
Grants up to £1,000 are available
Details
The Somerset Giving Fund aims to help voluntary or community groups that work for the benefit of people most in need in the county.
Applications should address one of the following themes:
- Tackling disadvantage – projects that help disadvantaged people gain access to services, information or community activities.
- Supporting community care – projects that support people involved in caring or those needing care, either in the home or in the community
Team Somerset 500 funding aims to help Somerset athletes towards Olympic and Para-Olympic success. Young athletes aged under 25 in Somerset may apply.
Grants covering 80 per cent of total costs per year are available.
Details
Team Somerset 500 Club Fund invites talented young athletes from the county of Somerset. The fund aims to help athletes overcome barriers to sporting potential in the run up to the 2012 Olympics and Para-Olympics. To be eligible, applicants should be resident in Somerset, be a member of a Somerset sports club and be aged under 25. Preference will be given to the following sports:
Any costs associated with developing sporting potential (e.g. equipment, competition fees and travel expenses) are eligible.
