Capital Modernisation Fund for Public Swimming Facilities
Sport England’s Free Swimming Capital Modernisation Programme (FSCMP) encourages creative approaches to enhancing swimming facilities and increasing participation in physical activity and sport among the over sixties and under sixteen.
Local authorities can apply for funding to improve publicly accessible swimming pools in local authority or maintained school ownership.
The online application process will be two-stage and competitive. It is expected that demand will far exceed the level of funding.
From 1 August 2009 initial applications can be submitted through Sport England’s online investment centre.
The closing date for Stage 1 applications is 4th September 2009.
