Church Urban Fund Mustard Seed Grants

The Church Urban Fund is seeking applications for Mustard Seed Grants in England.

The grants of up to £5,000 enable churches and faith-based organisations to work on social action projects within their community. Ideally projects should be based in communities that can demonstrate that they are severely disadvantaged.

Mustard Seed grants are designed to enable churches and faith-based agencies to engage in social action by enabling them to initiate or develop community work.

There are no set deadline dates. Applications may be made at any time.

The money must be used to enable your church/organisation to take on a larger project than it has been able to do in the past, or to improve on existing activities.

The scheme has been running for some years but new guidance has been published for 2010.

The 2010 updated guidance is available at:

http://www.cuf.org.uk/resources/5/Grant%20Information/Grants%20Manual%202010%20-%20applicants.pdf

The first step in applying is to contact your local Diocesan Link Officer. Priority will be given to projects identified by Dioceses as being key to the reduction of deprivation in their area. There is a full listing of more than 40 Link Officers throughout England at: www.cuf.org.uk/diocesan_contacts.aspx

If your project idea is eligible, the Link Officer will provide you with an application form.
