Money Advice Trust Innovation Grants Programe

Notice of forthcoming deadline (1st September 2011)

In 2010, the Money Advice Trust (MAT) piloted a small grants programme to identify projects which would help MAT meet its vision to improve the money-advice sector.

In 2011, with support from Nationwide Building Society, MAT has expanded the scheme and created five priority areas. The programme, now launched as the 'Innovation grants programme' aims to find innovative projects from across the UK which will help MAT to fulfil its vision and mission.

The 2011 priority areas are:

The Trust is willing to provide grants for single items, groups of items and projects.

The Trust is specifically looking for original and innovative projects and will not fund projects which are duplicating existing work. If you are thinking of applying please check to see if similar work is being done by other organisations. If you are doing a similar project to another organisation, in order to be eligible you must demonstrate how your project is different.

Grants could range from £1,000 up to £30,000, in exceptional circumstances.   MAT's Grants Committee may consider requests for more. Joint applications from organisations that are working together are welcomed, but there should be a lead organisation who will manage the grant.

The Trust strongly recommends that you read the information on these pages to help you with your application. If you are ineligible for a grant from MAT, this website is also a good place to start looking for other trusts and foundations that may have funding streams more suited to your organisations or work.

All applications must be received by the 1st September 2011.
