Faiths in Action – Round 2 now open to applications

Faiths in Action is a £4 million grant programme, distributed over two years in two rounds of funding.  In the first round, 216 organisations were offered grants of up to £12,000, totalling over £2.43 million.

Round 2 is now open for applications.

Faiths in Action is for local projects and activities, and is open to faith, inter faith, voluntary and community sector organisations at national, regional and local levels in England.

For full eligibility criteria, please read the guidance notes on the website below.

The maximum size of a grant in Round 2 is £6,000.

There is no formal deadline for applications – Round 2 is a rolling programme.
Applications will be accepted in the date and time order that they are received by the Community Development Foundation, until the total value of the eligible, relevant applications received equals the overall value of the fund.

Guidance notes and Application forms are available on website below or for hard copies, please call Tel: 01223 406533 Email: fundingadmin@cdf.org.uk

Grants will fund activities that take place between April 2010 and March 2011.

Faiths in Action funds both new and existing projects. The funder welcomes those that support women and young people. You can also apply in partnership with another group or organisation if this helps your project.

In your application, you must show how your project relates to one or more of the fund’s four priorities:

A. Developing the confidence and skills to "bridge" and "link"
B. Supporting shared spaces for interaction and social action
C. Developing structures and processes which support dialogue and social action
D. Improving opportunities for learning which build understanding

These priorities come from the Government’s framework, Face to Face and Side by Side

The Faiths in Action grant programme is still open for applications for projects running up to March 2011, with a total of £2 million available in grants of up to £6,000 each. Applicants are particularly encouraged to apply for funding for activities to take place during national Inter Faith Week running from 21-27 November 2010 and led by the Inter Faith Network. As the fund is quickly approaching its capacity, applicants are advised to apply as soon as possible.
