Bob the Builder - Renovation Grants for Nurseries

Would the early year’s settings in your area benefit from the chance to win an energy efficient renovation to help them save money and energy? Would the children enjoy new activities that help teach them about the environment and give them an opportunity to meet Bob the Builder? If so, read on.

Children’s favourite, Bob the Builder and Project: Renovate sponsor, Knauf Insulation, are offering pre-schools and nurseries the chance to win one of three ‘renovations’ worth up to £15,000 to make their settings more energy efficient and environmentally friendly in which children can play, learn and develop.  Renovations will include loft and/or cavity wall insulation and it is hoped nurseries will also benefit from the installation of renewable energy technologies including wind turbines and solar panels.

It is a great opportunity and one that your nurseries should not miss out on! Please make sure the settings in your area know about the award and how easy it is to enter by forwarding this email or asking them to log on to www.projectrenovate.com. Project Renovate packs are FREE and include everything needed to submit an award entry including:  

  • Bob’s Project: Renovate Award Guide and Entry Form – managers and practitioners can read about simple measures to saving money and energy in their settings, learn more about last year’s winners then complete and return the pull-out award entry form
  • Bob’s Project Plans – curriculum-linked activity plans for fun child facing activity suggestions
  • Pledge card and posters

Mums and dads can get involved too! Copies of Bob’s Guide to Energy Efficiency at Home featuring energy saving advice are also available to download. Families will have the chance to win free cavity wall and loft insulation installed in their homes – further information included within packs.

Three top prizes of:

  • An energy efficient renovation worth up to £15,000*   
  • A visit from Bob the Builder and a Bob prize pack
  • A plaque to commemorate the renovation and Bob’s visit 

Ten runners up will each receive:

  • A Bob the Builder prize pack and up to £1,000 to spend on making their nursery more energy efficient.
