The Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation

The Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation aims to improve the quality of life - particularly of those most in need.

Grants range in size from £250,000 down to less than £1,000, although most grants will be for less than £10,000. Grants may be awarded for capital projects, endowments, scholarship funds, research programmes and research funding.

The Foundation aims to fund a broad cross section of the community and will consider applications in the following areas:

The Foundation publishes very brief guidelines for applicants. There is no application form.

To apply, write to the Director (details below) giving details of your charity and its objectives, the need and purpose of your project and how much it will cost, the size of grant requested, how much has already been raised and from whom, and how you plan to raise the shortfall. Include annual report and accounts and any other documentation you feel will help to support your appeal.

Applications are considered regularly. The catchment area is England and Wales and about one in ten applications are funded.
