New Funding from Sport England
March 17th 2009Funding from the government agency Sport England will open for applications on 1 April 2009. A £10m investment aims to create sporting opportunities for people in rural areas.
Money will be used to increase the range of sports available to rural residents and improve transport to and from facilities.
The minimum grant available will be £10,000 but Sport England wants high value, high impact projects to maximise take-up of sporting activities in rural areas.
A significant proportion of the successful bids are therefore expected to be projects requiring National Lottery funding of more than £500,000.
A detailed application prospectus will be made available on Sport England’s website by 1 April, with a three-month window for outline applications.
